So I haven't actually posted something real on here in quite some time. I've decided to update. Trinity is one of my favorite places. I absolutely love college. I can't believe first semester is almost over, it's gone by so fast. I'm already halfway through my first year of college, it's unbelievable. God has blessed me so much with amazing friendships here. 3 of my suite mates (including my roommate) and I have become such good friends, it feels like we've known each other for years. We are able to support each other and laugh together and pray for each other. It's awesome, they have truly been a blessing. The guys at Trinity are such gentlemen and I've been blessed with great guy friends too. They really love the Lord and want to serve him with their lives. It's so awesome to be in this atmosphere, where God is so at work. I must say that at the beginning my friends told me they would get me to stay up late, and I didn't believe them. It truly has happened, I think my approximate bedtime at night is usually 12:30 or 1, not including those nights that we just stay up... :) It's pretty fun. Denny's has become a familiar place, especially late at night with a large group of friends. My friend Brandon usually brings his guitar (Pedro) and sings while we're eating, and it's so great to just be able to go into fast food places or Trinity Hall and worship together. We watch movies quite a lot as a group in Trinity Hall which is just so much fun. Classes are going well, I think I'm keeping grades up, but we don't get our grades til end of semester... :) We had coffee night about a week ago, and some Trinity bands played while we ate and listened that was a ton of fun.

My friend Brandon and me... The Black and White Affair just occured and that was a lot of fun. The girls got all dressed up and so did the guys and we met in the Lew and just hung out and had dessert and listened to music. Then some of my friends and I headed to Denny's in our formal wear and hung out laughing and talking. It was so much fun.

A few nights later, I was attacked in my bed by some of my suite mates, and 12 of us freshmen girls had to put pillowcases on our heads and some other girls led around for about an hour and made us do funny things on camera. After all of this occured, we found out that we had been nominated to Santa Lucia Court at Trinity. This friday is the coronation so we have to have escorts and formal prom dresses. :) We're leading Chapel on friday and serving food in Melton too that day. Then Saturday we have a breakfast to go to and we'll be making Christmas cards for nursing home patients and on Sunday we'll go to the nursing room and serve the patients with their needs and give them their cards. I'm really excited about all of this! Yesterday night I was actually able to eat real food (aka not Melton) at my friend Jeff's house, it was incredible. This was quite big deal for our lives... lol :) And hanging out with the guys was much fun. Majoring in education is pretty strenuous, but I'm greatly enjoying it. And I can't wait to be a teacher! Ok I think that about catches everyone up on the life of Emily! :) -Em |
